Founded in 1985, the Shuhag was one of the first to introduce Indian Cuisine to Essex.

Haroon Rashid arrived in London in the 80's as a young businessman - a man with a dream to bring the aromatic dishes filled with flavour & spice from his South-Asian homeland, to the village of Waltham Abbey.

The Shuhag was born, and along with it, a number of house dishes curated and perfected by Haroon - With the aim of introducing Indian Cuisine to locals in such a way that they would never forget that first mouthful bursting with the authentic taste of West Bengal.
